Be someone who shows up for others, especially your family.
As a mother, I used to struggle with this concept so hard.
We are taught the "rules" of being a parent right? Make them eat the food.
Make them keep their rooms tidy.
Make them do their chores.
Teach them to do what they are told.
But what do you do when none of these rules work the way you're told they should? I'll tell you what you do, you show up differently.
This means: You let them eat what they want to eat.
When its time to clean you show up with the broom.
When you need some help you ask them to contribute. We have to stop expecting those around us to be these perfect humans.
No one is perfect.
As a conscious being I have learned someone who shows up is someone who is willing to be whatever they have to be in the moment. I am someone who shows up differently.
My kids require someone who believes in them and their abilities to make choices.
My kids require someone to have their back even when they are surrounded by others.
Be the one who shows up differently. Without judgment, without wrongness and without expectations. Just show up.
